Carl Rimi

Carl's performing career started at a young age. At four he was tearing it up in modern tap and ballet classes. By fifth grade, he had won the lead in his elementary school's production of Saspirilly, where he played the prestigious role of "No Named Cowboy." By the time he got to high school, Carl took his skills from the stage to the athletic field where he was starting quarterback at Western high in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Carl never considered a career in comedy until he accompanied a friend to an open mic night at a local club. When his friend backed out, Carl decided the best way to show him that there was nothing to fear was to do the time himself. "People always told me I was funny, I never thought of myself that way. After those few minutes on stage, I just knew."
After experiencing the feeling of performing and being in the spotlight, Carl was hooked. He continued doing as many open mic nights as he could, traveling all over the state to satisfy his need to perform. Just a few months after starting, Carl got his first gig as an emcee in a local South Florida comedy club. Within weeks of that first appearance, he was working steadily on the South Florida circuit. Now, after being in the business for 10 years, he is touring nationally.
Being part of the 3% of the Florida population that is considered native is unique and this uniqueness transfers to Carl's comedy. His animated, edgy tales of being young and hip keep audiences laughing. Whether the subject is dolphins, taxi drivers or oysters, Carl's original style pleases everyone.
Club owners and audiences alike agree that with his hard-hitting observational humor, gift for improvisation and ability to read an audience, Carl Rimi is one comic that South Florida is proud to call their own.
