Broadband Theatre gives Festivalgoers a chance to see the web’s best stand-ups, sketch performers, and other comedic artists live. These artists are not bound by the old rules of live performance and it’s sure to be one of the Festival’s most talked-about shows. Hosted by Peter Karinen and Brian Sacca.
Pete & Brian have performed their live show at venues across the country, including Caroline’s on Broadway and the Boston Comedy Club. In addition, their comedy shorts can be seen on funnyordie.com and peteandbrian.com. Their most recent short, “FCU: Fact-Checkers Unit,” featuring Bill Murray, was named the “#1 must-see Web short” by TimeOut New York.
Like the instant classic “Make Love, Not Warcraft” episode of South Park, Machinima.com’s original series and movies created using footage from video games are a funny reworking of a popular medium. Using World of Warcraft, Halo, Sims 2, GTA, Battlefield, Counterstike and many more, Machinima.com will showcase new videos featuring the voice talents of popular comics.
Chicago-based Blerds.com is staffed by 12 comedians and one film director. Their work has been featured in such shows as the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival and Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in both Los Angeles and New York.
Garage Comedy is an LA-based alternative comedy show, broadcast live on the internet at GarageComedy.com. Known for its insanity and as the world's first interactive comedy show, Garage Comedy will feature founder Val Myers and Ryan Flynn as they present “The Silent Heckler.”
Funny Or Die features both user-generated content and original, exclusive content. The site is a place where celebrities, established and up-and-coming comedians and regular users can all put up “stuff they think is funny.” Created by Gary Sanchez Productions (Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy), Funny Or Die will debut a new video featuring Ferrell and John C. Reilly for TCF.
